![]() ![]() Maybe I'll write a direct draw version one day.Īs of version 1.05, an open source version, this program uses the zlib license. However, I'm not going to do anything about it. There's a bit of flickering, and that's because of the quick and dirty GDI drawing code. Since the game is so simple, no installation needed - just run the executable directly.Įxecution speed on an old PIII/733 was acceptable. It's a plain zip file containing a single executable. If you want to waste some time playing, you can download the compiled version here. The game logic looks like it's working properly. The bubbles used to be square blocks (because I was lazy) instead of actual round bubbles, but as of version 1.04, the bubbles are ray-traced phong-shaded super-sampled spheres (I.E. I did it this way because the windows compile is more a test harness for the game logic than anything else. The code isn't the greatest, and the drawing is all done using win32 GDI calls (no MFC, no frameworks, just pure win32 GDI). What's important is that the gameplay is quite addictive. I keep track of the moves and averages, and it is possible for the game to end. There really isn't any point to the game. Other differences are that the game is played on a 12 x 12 grid, and there's no sound. This has the effect of making the game last a lot longer. The biggest difference is the addition of new playing blocks dropping down in a row, instead of new playing blocks only coming from the left. This version behaves slightly differently since I decided that if I was going to write it, I wanted to play it the way I liked. Personally, I think it looks and plays better too, but my opinion is obviously biased. A search on google for " bubble breaker" turns up a bunch of results, but this version has the advantage of being completely free (not a trial, not shareware, but completely free as in open source). Initially, I couldn't find a version for windows (because I didn't remember what the game was called), so I wrote one myself. This is a clone of the bubble breaker game I found on an IPAQ running windows mobile (the most exact PC clone I've found is KDI's Jawbreaker). As you can see, there's more than enough variety in the game.Free extended clone of bubble breaker game Bubble Breaker Game The only way out is to blow up the balloons hanging next to each other to form an empty space around them. And in Marathon mode, black balls are added to the game, which cannot be knocked down because there are no black bubbles for shots. Sniper mode takes into account the time and number of shots fired. ![]() The arcade and the Strategy are very similar, differ in the principle of scoring and the fact that in the Arcade new bubbles are added after a certain period of time, and in the Strategy after a certain number of shots. As you guessed, the key to success in the game is less shots, more hits! So, think carefully every step of the way.īubble Shooter has four game modes (Arcade, Strategy, Sniper, Marathon) and for each mode you can set any level of complexity - beginner, expert or master. And for unsuccessful shots, on the contrary, additional balls will be added to the playing field. Also, the more successful combo shots you make at the balls of each color, the faster the bubbles of these colors will disappear from the game and you will be easier to finish the level. For the large number of bubbles shot down by one shot (combo) you will be awarded not only points, but also prize bonuses. The game involves balls of four colors - red, blue, yellow and green. Keep in mind that the bubbles on the playing field will gradually accumulate until they fill up the entire space, and then the player loses. For example, red bubbles can only be blown up with a red ball, yellow bubbles can only be blown up with a yellow ball, etc. The secret is that the balls that appear on the playing field may burst and disappear only if the player gets into a cluster of three or more bubbles of the same color with the same ball. But doing it isn't as easy as it sounds at first glance. Bubble Shooter - an exciting arcade with elements of a logical game in which you have to blow up multi-colored bubbles, shooting them with other balloons. ![]()
